  • As I stated in my review of Volumes 1 & 2, in the early days of the pandemic I bought several photographers' tutorials on processing. Unfortunately many just sat in a folder in my Dropbox.
I recently went through my tutorial folders and rediscovered Eric's "Tools of the Trade". I sat down and watched volume 3 over the course of a few nights, and wow, what gems!! I absolutely recommend getting these. I think this might even be my favorite one, if I was forced to choose ☺️. The entire package really is fantastic. Get all 4 volumes!

These "tools of the trade" tools aren't your basic Photoshop tutorials', in this video he teaches valuable techniques, and which basic tools to use to complete those techniques. And many of these techniques I've never found on anyone else's videos. Eric has a way of explaining not just the "how" but also the "why" and in some instances, the "why not".
I've referenced them so much I've copied them on to my desktop where I can easily access them and follow along the procedures on my own images. I look forward to the day when many of these are second nature to me. Thanks so much Eric! Fantastic!

I am someone who has consumed a lot of landscape photography post-processing tutorials, and in my opinion, Eric’s Tools of the Trade videos Volumes 1-3 are the best post-processing tutorials out there. Eric has a fantastic post-processing style, and these videos provide you with the various post-processing techniques Eric uses on his images. In particular, his techniques for achieving color separation/contrast are top notch and are something that I now do in almost all of my photos.

Eric is a great instructor. He does a great job of not only explaining the “technical how to” of these various techniques, but he also explains the when and why you should or should not apply certain techniques to your images.

I recommend all three videos. (In addition, I recommend pairing these Tool of the Trade videos with at least one of Eric’s “Start to Finish” tutorials as it will help you better tie all the various techniques together into a workflow that can be applied to your images.)

Eric has a great way of explaining his process. He clearly and precisely illustrates his methods, explaining exactly why he makes the ajustments he does. I couldn't recommend this video enough! A perfect addition to the processing arsenal. Clear and to the point.

If you’re interested in adding powerful yet simple techniques to your processing workflow, then this is for you. For example, Eric clearly illustrates how to apply mid-tone contrast in various lighting conditions to make your images pop. Highly recommend!
