Fall in Patagonia
Dates: April 19 - April 29 2018
Location: Los Glaciares, Argentina and Torres Del Paine, Chile
Group Size: Maximum of 2 Participants ONLY 1 SPOT LEFT
Skill Level: Passionate Landscape Photographers Only
Difficulty: We will be hiking into several locations with heavy backpacks, enduring harsh weather conditions such as rain, strong winds, and some snow. We will be doing short hikes each day to our shooting locations, typically before dawn.
With Patagonia's rugged landscape, jagged, impressive peaks, and dynamic weather and light, it's no wonder that it's got every photographer dreaming about it. With my experience and knowledge of the area, my goal is to help you learn how to improve your photography while having opportunities to put all of your skills and techniques to the test. Patagonia is not an easy place to capture images, but if you can be in the right place when everything lines up, and with the right instructor, you can really take advantage of it's rewarding potential. The memories I have from this place are some of the most impacting of all my career as a Landscape Photographer. This is a trip that will test your patience, strength, and skillset daily.
For our workshop we will be flying into El Calafate, Argenita, where we will then drive 2 hours into El Chalten where we will begin our hike into Los Glaciares NP where we will camp at the base of Fitz Roy for several days to shoot various locations before heading over to Laguna Torre at the base of Cerro Torre. There are no roads in Los Glaciares so we will be on foot for the entirety of our stay. We will then hike back into El Chalten and stay one night in a hotel to dry off and repack before we head across the border into Chile to shoot several locations around Los Cuernos and Las Torres in Las Torres Del Paine NP. We will be camping in Torres Del Paine near our shooting locations and will be able to get around in our vehicle to the different trailheads where we will be hiking to shoot.
Throughout the entire trip, I will be sharing my own personal photography techniques that I use to create my images in order to help you to be able to achieve your own photography goals and return home with the photos you hope to capture. We will be working together closely, constantly looking for photo opportunities as long as the lighting provides. You will learn how to organize scenes and utilize light for both grand, impressive views of mountains as well as intimate, quieter scenes that without the right eye, many other photographers overlook.
